In this day and age, it is actually very easy for stay at home mom's to make money online. However, the problem is that it is hard to swim through all the information and scams that are on the internet when looking for a solid way to do so.

With that in mind, I want to put together a list of the top 5 best free online jobs for stay at home moms. While I am not an expert on most of the jobs I mentioned, I will provide links to articles that can help you get going with those jobs.

The 5 Best Free Online Jobs for Stay at Home Moms

1. Surveys

You could have probably guessed that this would be on the list, since my website is dedicated to taking surveys online. However, I am being honest when I put this in the number one position in my list.

Taking surveys is a great option for stay at home moms, because:

  • There is no background experience needed
  • You can get paid in cash
  • You can get access to special coupons for shopping
  • You get to work from home
  • You can work any hours you want
  • It is extremely easy
  • You can get started right now

Taking surveys online is an easy, free way to make money online. The problem is avoiding the scams that people try to pull. Avoiding scams and finding the best survey websites is the entire purpose I created this website.

If you'd like to get started making money with survey companies, I'd recommend this article I wrote:

2. Freelance Writing

If you enjoying writing, then this could be a great way for you to get some extra income. If could even go beyond just extra money and become a full-time job, if that is what you would like.

I don't consider myself an expert or authority on freelance writing, so I did some research and found some great articles that could get you going in this direction if it seems appealing.

These sites should help you learn more about freelance writing, and teach you ways to make more money when doing so.

Also, I included an article on improving your writing. If you think freelance writing is a good job, but don't consider yourself a good writer, don't worry. Writing is a skill, which means that you can work on it and become better at it.

What I think is cool about freelance writing is that the more jobs you do, the more you will be writing. The more you are writing, the better your writing will become, and the better jobs you will be able to get.

Here are some sites that you can sign up for and begin your freelance writing career:

3. Data Entry

Data entry may not be the flashiest of jobs, but it does provide consistent work and doesn't require prior experience. These are very simple tasks that companies need done, and luckily, they don't involve going to an office.

They send you over the information and task, and you simply do it from home on your computer.

Here are some companies that are currently offering data entry jobs:

4. Customer Service / Sales Representative

If you enjoy helping people, then you could be great for being a customer service or sales representative. This can require you to be on the phone, but this is still a way for you to make money from the comfort of your own home.

While this may technically not be an online job, it was close enough that I figured I would include it. Especially since they are rather simple jobs that allow the freedom to work from home.

Here are companies offer customer service or sales representative jobs:

5. Sell on eBay, Amazon, or ETSy

eBay, Amazon, and ETSy are great sites for making some money online. There are multiple ways to go about using these sites to make money, and this blog post won't be able to cover them. But to get you started with some ideas, you can look for products that are being sold locally near you or in bulk somewhere online, then sell these individually on Amazon or eBay for profit.

An example of this is to look for video games being sold on eBay in groups. These video games will probably be worth more if they were all sold individually, so you could buy the grouped games, then simply resell them individually on eBay.

When it comes to ETSy, it is similar to Amazon and eBay except that you sell your arts and crafts. So if you love doing crafting projects, then this could be a great way to make money online with your hobby.

Here is a cool post on 10 tips for successfully selling on ETSy.

  1. Hi Chris, are there any companies based in Canada that offer legit data entry jobs?

    1. Hey Dorothy,

Here is a transcript job for people in Canada: http://www.accutranglobal.com/

But I would also recommend checking out https://www.odesk.com/ and https://www.elance.com/. These are websites that offer world wide opportunities to find freelance jobs, which include data-entry.

You’d just sign up, fill out your profile and then bid on jobs. It offers more opportunities beyond data-entry, but that is certainly one of them.

      Hope this helps,

      Chris

  7. Is this legit stuff? I’ve been looking for jobs online and seems like they are all scams. I have a 7th month old daughter, day cares are too expensive and want to stay at home with her. My husband works but it’s not enough to keep up and want to help.
