Why I created Survey Chris

I've been running a blog where I write about entrepreneurship for several years and I received an email from a reader asking me if it was possible to make money filling out surveys.

I was intrigued.

For years I'd seen advertisements for survey companies before, but I never actually tried one of these companies until one time back in the middle of 2013 I decided to dive into survey companies in my spare time for a few weeks to see how much money I could make.

I made $248.06 in less than 3 weeks only using my spare time while I was watching TV!

Great right?

Well, the problem I kept running into in my research was that every single website that I found that reviewed survey companies simply recommended the companies that offered them the greatest reward for the referral.

Understandable (I guess), but not cool.

For someone like me trying to determine if taking surveys was a viable method of generating some extra cash this made it incredibly aggravating to determine which companies I should sign up for.

I couldn't trust the reviews I found online.

The solution – why I started Survey Chris

I set the survey project aside but it kept nagging at me, so that's when I decided that I should just create my own website to showcase the best survey companies.

So on SurveyChris.com I'll be sharing which survey companies I enjoyed working with the most, made me the most money and paid me on time.

Now because I've already established that I can't trust the reviews from others, I've decided the only way I can provide you with unbiased reviews of the best survey companies online is to go out and try every single survey company around then show you the paycheck I get from them.

This will likely be an ever changing target but my goal for these reviews is to take enough surveys to reach a level great enough to get my first pay check and then I'll write the review.

Along the way I'll pick up tips about survey taking which I'll also share with you here. So stick around and be sure to join my survey insiders group to receive exclusive content not found on my blog:

The group is free to join, simply enter your email above and I'll send you a free gift in the first email.

My goal here is simple

Help you find which survey companies are the best to work with so you can avoid wasting time on the scammy companies out there.

Thanks for stopping by and if this sounds like something you're interested in join to get my free beginners guide releasing in late May.

  1. Hi Chris,
I came here after clicking on a link from your EntrepreneurBoost blog.I really liked the case study you put on your blog.
I wanted to ask a question that “these survey companies are for US only or do they offer same opportunities in other countries as well?waiting for answer.

    1. They vary it just depends on the company. Where are you based out of? What I’ll likely do is create pages for each country (or at least the main ones).

  2. I’ve been lurking for a bit now, but haven’t yet had the chance to dive into the world of online surveying. Just wanted to stop by and give my thanks for all the work you’ve put into the site, and for helping out newbies like myself. I’m looking forward to putting your invaluable information to good use in the near future.

    Keep up the great work!

  3. Hello Chris,
I recall doing surveys years ago for money (5+ years ago) and getting so much spam in my inbox, via USPS, and an abundance of telemarketer calls over the phone that it made it a pain to continue to do. Is that still the case with taking surveys today or do most create a dedicated email address for surveys, rent a P.O. box, and use a pay-as-you go cellphone that they can turn off?

    1. Hey Daniel,

I personally have a dedicated email and use Google voice as my telephone. I do use my real address though.

  4. what websites can I use that will mail me my money?
and don’t request credit card information in the usa?

    1. Hey Richard,

CashCrate will mail you money. If you use PayPal, you have a lot more options for sites with Cash.

Most won’t ask for your credit card on this site. The only ones I use a credit card for are the paid offers. You can search the site for those.

Otherwise they should just be surveys and not need a credit card.

  6. Hey Chris,
Can you explain how Paypal works? Is it safe/secure? Does the money they pay to you go directly to your bank account or does it exist only in Paypal?

  7. Hey, Chris, thanks for helping us. But, I have a question, Can you suggest me some surveys which includes users from Bangladesh. I see my neighbouring country, but not my country on the list. I am really in need of money, because I was robbed recently and they took my phone which was a present from my beloved parents, and now I want to pay them back their hard worked money they spended on buying my phone. I also want to receive my cash through cheques,So, please can you give me some promising sites which can really help me out. I would be really happy for your affords.
